Talent Show

Again it has been a few days since Ive posted. Guess it has been a busy week. Sunday I overslept so I didnt get to go to church so I went and visited my grandma.

On Saturday my grandma turned 72 yrs old.

When I was there my grandma gave me this necklace that she bought me so I could have something from her that I can pass down to Morgan.

Its been a pretty typical week at work. Its only Wednesday and I am already mentally and physically exhausted. I wish there were more good days than bad days of work. As a friend of mine says sometimes you just gotta grin and bear it, but sometimes its hard when you work with the people I do. I can handle just about anything but being cussed at. I wish people could just hear how they sound when they talk like they do. I know everyone has problems but work is not the place to take it out on everyone. It really puts everyone in a bad mood.

Enough about that. Ive vented enough. Last night was the talent show at the school. It was $5 to get in and they had a cake/pie auction and served hamburgers and hotdogs. It seemed like it was a great success. The kids and the staff did really awesome!

There was a lot of great talent! Morgan sang Impossible.

This weekend is Mothers Day.  My mom will be in New York so I guess its just me and Morgan. We are going to do a girls day out or something after church. Not sure yet what we are going to do but Ill figure out something before then. Sure wish the rest of my kids were here so we could all spend the day together..  :0(  Maybe next year.

Checking back

Its been a few days since Ive blogged so Im checking back in. The storms are gone and in there place is some nice warm sunny weather. When I got off work Thursday it was nice out and the grass had dryed out so I put my stuff in the house and went out to mow and weed eat the yard.

Sure looks alot better and the grass is so green now since the rain. Thank you Lord!

Had a good day at work yesterday. Came home last night and was able to relax and enjoy the evening.

Today they are going to the movies so Ill use that time to get my house clean and laundry done.

Storms still here

Well the storms are still here. And it is spread all the way down in Texas where my boys are. I called to check on them because there was a tornado in Mabank...like really close...and Drew answered the phone saying Im ok Mom...he knew what I was going to ask

Tornado Watches and Floods

Today has been a really crazy day. It stormed most of the night last night and there has been tornado watches off and on since then.  I went to work this morning and had to turn around and take another way around because the bridge on 3rd street was flooded.

Got off at 2 today and it has done nothing but rain since I got home.

The water is coming from the colvert...all the water is coming from up the street....and is streaming thru my yard and into the drain ditch in the back...usually the ditch is like 4 ft deep and you have to cross the bridge to get across...the water is almost touching the bridge cause its almost full...and the water is gushing thru.

Hopefully it will stop raining tonight. Alot of people in my neighborhood are posting pictures by their houses as well so its pretty flooded everywhere....Ill have to be careful getting out at 5:30 in the morning to get to work...I might just get drifted away...lol

Easter Sunday

Had a great Easter Sunday. Woke up early this morning so Morgan had time to get her basket and we went to Sonic for breakfast on our way to church.



Church was awesome. I love to hear about the Resurrection of the Lord! Its such an amazing story!

Service was awesome and so was the music!

After church we went to my sisters house for an egg hunt and Easter dinner.

Here are Morgan and her cousin Spring before the egg hunt.  Morgan wouldnt let me take any pics of her hunting eggs but I snuck this one anyways....couldnt get any closer though...lol

She couldnt run for the eggs in her flip-flops cause it was wet out and she kept sliding so she just kicked them off and went bare-footed.

We had glazed ham, potatoes, camp beans, rolls, corn and salad for dinner.  We brought a few pieces of cake home with us cause we were too full for dessert. On our way home we stopped to see my mom and Russ at Grandpa and Gigi's house and they had another basket full of goodies for Morgan there...didnt get to get a picture of that one before she tore into it.

Floods and Eggs

Since I had yesterday off, I had most of my errands and shopping done so I spent most of the day today at home.

It was a good thing that I did because it was a wet mess outside.

Talked to Drew again today and he is camping with his dad this weekend. I sure hope the weather there is better than here. He sounded like he was having a lot of fun and said he was going to go fishing. He said Dennis stayed at home and that he probably was going to spend Easter with his girlfriend. I really missed the days when we all were able to do things together as a family. Feels like we are all over the place now.

Britany is spending her Easter weekend unpacking and getting settled into her house. And Morgan and I spent the day doing crafts and just relaxing.

Good Friday

It has been a good day. Hope everyone remembered the true meaning of today. Jesus gave his life on the cross on this day to save us from our sins.  I cant say how thankful I am that he did! Please take a moment in prayer to give thanks for all he has done for us.

I was off work today. I did a little shopping with my sister and went and paid my bills. I did get to go to Larry's Pizza. That place is awesome!

Besides that it has been a pretty quiet day. Morgan has company tonight. They just got back from playing basketball at the park

Now if I can get them to go to bed at a decent time Ill be doing alright.....lol

Three Day Weekend after today!

Do any of you ever have days that you think are never going to end? Lol that is how today was. Even though we had a short week at work, and actually got off almost an hour early....seemed like I was never going to get out of there.

I was so tired today that I came home and took a nap..lol

Now I have the next 3 days off and I am so excited! Morgan still has to go to school tommarrow but Ill have the rest of the weekend to spend time with her.

I talked to Drew on the phone and some on facebook tonight. He is going thru so much right now. I dont really want to get into it on here but If anyone is reading this please keep him in your prayers!

It is so hard trying to be there and to protect your kids when they are 400 miles away. You almost feel helpless in situations but God will be there taking care of him while I cant.

Humpday

Well today is Wednesday, just not an ordinary Wednesday. One more day at work tommarrow and then we have a much needed 3 day weekend for Good Friday and Easter with Friday being paid. How awesome is that?

The weather today was so strange. After it being so hot yesterday and with the storms last night it was awful nippy out there this morning.. Im glad I didnt decide to go to work in shorts.

Work today was well work..lol...It was a very stressful day. Lots of changes that didnt seem to be helping things and people getting aggrivated and then 2 of my co-workers getting into a big argument and yelling back and forth across the boat with me stuck right between them.

I am very disappointed in myself. After not having one in a long time, I had a really bad anxiety attack after that and had to leave a few minutes early for lunch to come home and get my meds...Chest was tight and felt like i couldnt breathe and couldnt stop shaking...was fine when i came back but the medicine makes me a little loopy  and i wasnt able to eat my lunch.

Didnt get to spend hardly any time with Morgan tonight....just for a few before Awanas so here is a pic she had taken a few days ago on her dsi

Just one of those days

Today has just been one of those days...days that I feel mentally and physically exhausted.

I seem to be having alot of days like this lately. I had a long day yesterday...didnt want to get up when the alarm went off this morning...got to work and had to deal with alot of attitude...so many personalities all together do not mix sometimes...Sometimes you just have to block everyone out.....lol...sometimes you cant and it really makes for a tough day...today was one of those days!

What is nice though is to come home and enjoy the silence for awhile. Ive had people tell me that im strange for just sitting here with nothing on but to me its very relaxing.

When this one gets home the silence ends...haha ....she will talk your ears off and if you dont answer her she will keep talking...i really believe she talks to herself sometimes...lol

Well the girls played basketball against Yellville tonight....they all got to play and all did very well..they won      29-2...

Our Last Home Game

Today has been a long day....Up at 5 and went to work..got home around 3:30 in time to get a shower, eat and head to Morgans basketball game...didnt make it home til 8:30.....now a little me time

Wish everyday was the weekend

I have alot on my mind...Things I have got to work through but overall this has been a good weekend. Yesterday we went to the park and met my uncle and aunt and their grandkids. Morgan enjoyed pushing my cousins little boy Terrence on the swing

Today was an awesome service at church. I heard what I needed to hear today.

After church I went and picked Morgan up and we met some friends at Cotter Springs for a picnic...sure was a beautiful day and what better way than to enjoy some time with friends.

Had to hurry back afterwards for Morgans basketball practice...she has her last three games this week.

She wasnt very cooperative about taking pictures....lol...guess I wore her out today!

Just beginning

This is my first blog. Usually I am one to keep things to myself but if everyone else can do this than so can I. Just to tell a little about myself, I am a single mom, have been separated from my husband for a few years now. We were together for 21 yrs. We have 3 kids together and he had a daughter from his first marriage that I love as my own as well. I have my youngest daughter Morgan, who is 11 living with me, Britany is my stepdaughter and she is 25, she is married and I have a 2 yr old grandson named Bo. And my ex has my boys, Dennis is 18 and Drew is 15. Let me tell you it is hard going from having a big family to just 2 of us. So quiet. Sometimes it is nice and other times its just too quiet. Things are tough sometimes but I trust in the Lord. He has done so much for us lately. I can truely say that I am blessed! Another thing about me is that I am a recovering addict. I have been clean for over 3 yrs now. The first 16 months I was locked up, but I have been strong for the last 2 yrs since I was released. Truely someone up there is looking out for me. When I got out things were so tough. I didnt have a home. My husband was living with another woman. I moved to Arkansas to my moms with my youngest 2 kids with just a bag of clothes for each of us. I didnt know what I was going to do. Just knew I wasnt leaving Texas without my kids. Depression set in worse than when I was locked up so I got help down here and stayed on depression and anxiety medication, also was on medication to help me sleep. My 18 yr old made the decision to stay with his dad. It was his senior year and he had a girlfriend and didnt want to come. That still hurts. I have missed so much of his life. He was 15 when I went in. And sometimes I feel like I dont know him anymore. I did get to spend a few weeks with him last summer when I went to visit Brit. It just wasnt long enough. Wasnt the same.

Well a few months after I moved here, I started going to church. You see I was saved when I was locked up. Spent alot of my time taking classes to improve myself. And going to church in there. And spent most of my free time in the cell reading the bible. In the midst of a horrible situation, I was able to find peace in Gods words.
A month or two after I started going to church here, Me and Morgan were baptized. It was an awesome experience. I slowly but surely felt like I was a part of something more than just the here and now. Things were looking up. Eventually I was able to take myself off of all my medication except my sleeping medication sometimes when I need it. Its so nice having people to be there for you.

I lived with my mom for about a year and a half and now I have my own place. God had his hands on that one too. I have a good job working at Ranger Boats.  I have been blessed with so much these last few months. We are now on our own two feet. We have a home. Everything that we need. I moved in with hardly nothing and within a week I had everything I needed. There are so many caring people out there! Every time I opened the door I wanted to cry. Never thought I had that many people that cared about me. Never thought I was worth it. But I knew the Lord had my back. I put my trust in him and he blessed me more than I would ever think could happen. I just hope one day I  can help someone else like people helped me.
